Ludwina's Story

For most of my life, I built businesses, raised a family and helped other people bring their ideas to life. I didn't begin painting until ten years ago at the age of fifty, but when I did, I discovered something that had been waiting for me all along.

Today, I create artwork that explores the stories we often keep hidden - the scars we carry, the wisdom we gain and the moments that shape us. Through painting, mentoring and conversation, I help people connect more deeply with themselves, their creativity and their story.

Whether you've arrived here as an art lover, collector, fellow artist or simply someone curious about the journey, I'm glad you're here. Welcome to my world.

Scars of a Woman

The 'Scars of a Woman' collection began as a way of making sense of the things that changed me. Cancer, menopause and the breakdown of a thirty three year marriage. The quiet grief of letting go of who I thought I would be and the unexpected freedom of becoming someone new.

These paintings explore the visible and invisible scars women carry through life. The marks left by love, loss, motherhood, illness, resilience and survival. Some stories we talk about. Others are held quietly beneath the surface for years.

Each painting is layered with texture, symbolism and materials that hold some deep personal meaning. In some pieces I have incorporated disposable medical robes collected during cancer scans, embedding fragments of my experiences directly into the work. What might appear fragile at first glance is often a record of strength.
