Do You See Me

There is a particular kind of loneliness in being looked at but not seen.

Do You See Me is a haunting charcoal on paper that captures the ache of invisibility, the moment when someone's eyes pass right through you, as though you are not quite there. The figure emerges from shadow, present and yet unseen, asking a question that lingers long after you look away.

Part of the Scars of a Woman series, this work speaks to the quiet wounds that leave no visible mark; the ones felt in the spaces between disconnection and the desire to be seen.
