Calm in the Storm is an invitation to find your quiet place — no matter what life is throwing at you.

A female figure emerges from deep shadow, serene and present, framed by dramatic diagonal strips of hessian and silver leaf that catch the light like lightning frozen in time. The texture beneath your fingertips tells its own story — built from charcoal sourced from a fire burned during Covid, pressed into layers of acrylic and oil, raw hessian stitched into the surface, and silver leaf applied by hand.

Every angle of light reveals something new.

Part of the Scars of a Woman series, this work is about the calm that lives inside you — not the absence of the storm, but your ability to find stillness within it.
