There's a particular kind of permission that comes from being fed, housed and genuinely easy company for someone for four days straight.

She arrives as herself. She leaves as more fully herself — rested in a way she hasn't been in years, seen in the ordinariness of her days, given permission to simply be rather than perform or produce.

She doesn't leave with a plan. She leaves with ease.

Who this is for

This is for women artists who want four days in a real home with someone who gets the work, who understands what it costs, and who knows how to make domestic space into something that heals.

You might come alone. You might come with a friend. Either way, you're looking for something beyond a retreat or a workshop — you're looking for what it feels like to be ordinary and seen simultaneously. To stop earning permission for a few days and just receive it.

Your practice is real. Your need for rest is real. Your hunger for genuine company, without agenda, is real.

What this isn't

This is not a structured program. There is no curriculum, no modules, no sequence of exercises designed to move you through something.

This is not a spa retreat. It's not Instagram-ready. It's not designed to be productive.

This is not therapy. It's not problem-solving. It's not someone else's methodology applied to your situation.

What actually happens

You arrive Friday afternoon. You leave Monday morning.

You stay in a real home in Melbourne. Meals are together — breakfast, lunch, dinner, the rhythms that make a home feel like a home. Conversation happens at the table, in the kitchen, walking through the gallery, in the quiet moments between things.

No schedule to follow. No exercises to complete. No permission slip required to sit quietly or to talk for hours or to spend an afternoon alone in the studio.

The work is present — your work, the other woman's work, the making that brought you both here. But it's not the subject. You are.

What happens is simple: you're fed. You're housed. You're in genuine company with someone who understands the particular loneliness of the artistic life. You're permitted to be ordinary and extraordinary simultaneously, without having to choose.

You leave rested. You leave seen. You leave knowing what it feels like to be easy company and to have easy company made for you.

The table — long timber, linen, candlelight, shared meals — is the methodology. Not a metaphor. An actual table where food appears, where time slows down, where the ordinary becomes sacred because it's held with intention.

Most retreats are designed to produce something — insight, clarity, energy, a plan. This one is designed to produce ease. Permission without justification. The knowledge that you can be ordinary and that ordinariness is enough.

Being in someone's home, eating what she makes, moving through her rhythms — this is different from being in a workshop space. There's no performance. There's just: you are here, you are fed, you belong in this kitchen, at this table, in this moment.

The invitation is to rest. The methodology is hospitality.
