Wisdom reminds Ludwina of the rings inside an old tree trunk, where every year of living leaves its mark. Those deep rings hold time, knowledge, experience and resilience, each layer adding to the story of what has been endured and what has been learned.

This acrylic paint pour was created using a technique called ring pouring, which forms beautiful organic lines that move through the painting like growth rings, riverbeds or the memory of something ancient. After the pour had settled, Ludwina worked back into the piece by hand, painting additional lines and creating more negative space to give the composition depth, movement and visual interest.

The result is a striking monochromatic artwork with a quiet strength. Its black, white and grey palette makes it easy to place in a contemporary home, while the layered forms give it richness and meaning up close.
